      The Valley East Renegades Peewee team were greeted with quite the surprise right before their regular hockey practise Wednesday.

      As part of Scotiabank’s Stanley Cup Surprise and Delight campaign in support of kids community hockey in Canada, the young players were brought face to face with a very large, very shiny, and very recognizable cup.

      Scotiabank supports over 5,000 minor hockey teams in communities across Canada and this initiative is part of a national program that gives Canadian kids the chance to touch a piece of hockey history.

      Festival volunteers will host Sudbury’s Biggest Beer Pong Tournament on Nov. 28 at the Sudbury Events Centre, formerly known as the Mine Mill Hall. The winning duo will be flown to Las Vegas to compete in the international beer pong championships for $50,000.

      Bouncing baby, delighted dog: an overnight Internet sensation

      Capreol resident Sabrina Sauve had no idea that a video of her dog and baby would receive so much attention.
      Sauve uploaded a video of her red border collie, Dakota, pouncing at the shadow of her toddler, Ally, while she wiggled around in her Jolly Jumper. Sauve had just introduced Ally to the bouncing swing, and Daykota immediately joined in the fun. The video captures both baby and canine jumping joyfully together.
      The video has more than 2.8 million hits on her YouTube page as of Monday morning, and close to 40 million hits worldwide, making this Capreol family a global Internet phenomenon.
